Heathrow Gate Hotel

This imaginative and challenging proposal centres on the conversion of a derelict, yet imposing 1960?s office tower to create a hotel with extensive conference facilities close to Heathrow Airport. The building will be completely re-clad with the formal gridded elevations overlain with a random pattern of stainless steel panels. These will act as a solar shading devices but will be lit at night to bring life and vitality to this prominent landmark. A wave shaped roof top addition will be constructed housing two bedroom double height penthouse suites with incredible views over the whole of West London. A total of 182 bedrooms will be provided with reception area, dining room and bar located at ground and first floor levels. A large conference hall for up to 600 delegates will be built at the rear of the hotel with self contained bar and dining facilities. The parking forecourt will be extensively landscaped and will also accommodate a small media centre. The scheme has received planning consent from the London Borough of Hillingdon.
