A new headquarters building for Free Form, a community arts trust, incorporating artists' studios, live work units, offices and community facilities on a brownfield site on London Fields in Hackney. Ash Sakula were chosen by competitive interview, and the clients' aim was to create "an early landmark of 21st century architecture" Completion of phase 1 was in September 2002 and phase 2, two additional floors providing more studio space and a roof colony of artists' studios and live/work spaces is now complete. Ken Livingstone called phase 1 of the Hothouse "an outstanding artistic space".
