Clapham One is a public private partnership scheme between the London Borough of Lambeth, Cathedral Group Plc and United House Limited. One of the few successful mixed-use projects to make it through the recession to provide new homes and community facilities, the scheme is situated across two sites in Clapham and has delivered one of the only libraries to be opening in the whole country this year. The ‘spiral’ design of the library allows for a flexible performance space at its centre, with meeting rooms situated off the perimeter circulation space. The project also provides a new leisure centre, health centre
and 199 new homes, along with a major element of community-influenced public art.
