The new Blackfriars station will be the only station in London to span the river
Thames. The project’s platforms have been reconstructed on top of a Victorian rail bridge, combining 21st century architecture with 19th century engineering.4,400 solar panels on the roof of the new station will form London’s largest solar array, generating up to 50% of the station’s energy needs. The new Blackfriars station will cater for longer trains and more frequent services, transforming both the journey experience and the station environment for passengers. -
