Overtreders W creates space
Overtreders W is a spatial design agency, founded in 2006 by Reinder Bakker and Hester van Dijk, both graduated at The Design Academy in Eindhoven. We design indoor and outdoor spaces such as interior, exhibitions and small pavilions. Contemporary themes such as the changing landscape, social cohesion in neighbourhoods and sustainability come up in our work. The complex assignments we encounter are translated into a clear and strong image.
When we design a space we want to do justice to the local circumstances and existing qualities of it. Besides this we want to take the dreams and ambitions of our client and the people who are going to be using the space into account. The spaces we design have a human size, it is nice to spent time in them.
Concepts we come up with have to provide an adequate answer to a design problem, but also add something unexpected to it. The beauty of a design comes about when logic and analysis coincide with a spontaneous hunch that is the result of an intuitive, subconscious process.
Although we are a small and flexible design agency, because of our large network that, among others, includes graphic designers, architects, product designers, food designers, photographers and interior builders, we can also handle larger projects.
We have worked for divergent companies from the cultural field, but municipalities and commercial companies such as Forbo and Port of Rotterdam Authority are also part of our customers.
