Architects Nick Eldridge and Piers Smerin formed Eldridge Smerin in 1998. Eldridge Smerin’s projects draw on the practice’s skills and interest in contemporary architecture within the existing urban fabric, conservation areas and historic settings as well as projects adapting and reinvigorating existing environments with contemporary interventions of the highest quality. The majority of projects have had to satisfy exacting client requirements and have been preceded by careful analysis of usage patterns and spatial requirements, with design proposals emerging only after intensive collaboration with all members of the project team. The practice’s work has been widely published in the UK and overseas.
